The Trinity Awards program began in 2011 as a way to recognize and honor our members. Then President, Lyn Graves, had a vision to produce a chapter event and awards program like no other as a “A Celebration of Our Members.” The first annual Trinity Awards received an overwhelming response and the gala proved to be one of the most talked about events of that year. The Trinity Awards program includes categories covering all aspects of event planning and management. The call for entries begins in February and the Trinity Awards Gala is held in June.

The Awards Program

Who can enter?
Entries are open to all ILEA Raleigh Durham members in good standing on or before October 31, 2019.

How are the entries judged?
Entries are blind-judged by a panel of ILEA members who are industry experts who hold the CSEP designation and are located outside of the Triangle area.

Why should I enter the Trinity Awards?

Get recognized for your talents and hard work on your events! With over 21 categories to enter, ALL areas of our members’ expertise are honored and recognized. Share with your clients and prospects the honor of being named a winner within our prestigious local chapter, further setting your self apart from the competition. In addition, your name and title as a Trinity Award winner will be featured on the ILEA Raleigh Durham website.


How do I enter?
All entries are submitted via DropBox or email. Information and instructions will be available when the Call for Entries is released.

Is there an entry fee?

Yes, there is a fee to enter. Please refer to the official Call for Entries.

What is a team entry?
A team entry can be entered into one category when two (2) or more members were instrumental in the planning/execution of an event. Entrants can be from the same company or from separate companies; however, all must be ILEA members.

Can I submit the same event into two different categories?

Yes, often the same event will be appropriate for more than one category.

What are the qualifying entry dates?
The 2020 Trinity Awards will honor member events produced/executed between January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019.

Esprit Awards

Can I submit my Trinity entry to the Esprit Awards?
Due to popular demand, the Trinity Awards entry process is no longer mirroring the Esprit Awards entry process. Many of our local members found the entry process to be difficult, time-consuming and overwhelming if they were not going to submit for an Esprit. Instead, the Trinity entry process stands on its own. Those who choose to enter for an Esprit are subject to those separate guidelines and policies for entry.

Trinity Gala

When is the gala?
The Trinity Gala is held in June along with the Board Recognition and Installation Ceremonies.

Can I be a sponsor of the gala?
As the largest meeting of the year, members who sponsor the Trinity Awards receive the highest visibility. The Trinity Committee relies on member sponsors for all aspects of the event. Please contact the Trinity Committee Chair for more information.

What is the attire?
Black tie attire is appropriate unless otherwise noted on the gala invitation.
